I can honestly say that I thought these words would never come out of my mouth. Never in my life did I think I would be “this kind” of person. But here goes…I think I want a Chevy Silverado. There. It is out in the open.
This change of heart toward an otherwise non-existent brand to me, comes on the heels of seeing their latest advertisement “A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘N’ Roll”. Seriously folks, Chevy burst onto the radar of numerous multicultural groups with this ad. Not only is there representation from many minority groups throughout the commercial, but Chevy shows itself to be a genuine and heartfelt company with knowledge of the diversity they plastered all over this thing. We weren’t just shown a Native American or African American so that they could checkmark a box for diversity. Chevy placed these and other multicultural groups into situations where their truck could fit into the lives of these people. They didn’t ask these people to fit into their culture…they dove head first into theirs. And that my friends was enough to make me look at the Silverado with wanting eyes. I doubt I was the only one.
